Howdy,

Am looking for whatsoever feedback on Giesemann Megachrome 17.v K Crystal 250 watt bulb.
My ballast is Sunlight Supply Blueish Wave magnetic and wanted to try something other than radium.
Am certain it won't be as blue as my radium just wonder virtually the PAR equally one of the reviews in BRS claims that it has lifetime twice more than than radium.

I can aid a fiddling. These are the exact bulbs I currently utilise. I do not know exactly what par they put out . They are not as blueish as the radiums. They do abound SPS very well and with some t5 supplementation I've found a squeamish residuum of blue. Every bit far as longevity I can say that I've been running mine for eight months and all of my coral are still growing neat. I plan on changing them out reguardless at the 12 month marking if not sooner.

I utilize the 17.5k DE 250watt bulbs with ATI T5

Hope this helps some :)

Well I never used whatever supplementation with T5s for my radium. Not much worried with coral color now every bit I prefer to grow them better than color .
May I know what ballast do yous use ? Any idea if they will run fine with magnetic ballasts?

Abhishek

Yes those anchor volition run the bulbs equally long as they are the same wattage.

I employ electronic ballasts because the are more efficient and they produce less oestrus. Heat at the anchor and at the bulb are reduced using electronic ballasts.

I ran that combo over a 180 - three ten 250s and 6 T5s. T5s merely at night for a couple of ours and saw OUTSTANDING growth. Nifty bulbs

Apart from you guys, near people claim that they are yellowish and expect really ****** . Might be that they are not run on HQI and hence causes yellowing .
Went alee and ordered them.
Sure they are costly but hope they justify the cost with their performance. Volition definitely practise a comparison with my radiums for PAR using my Apogee 510.

In my experience in that location is nothing yellow nigh them at all. Crisp and bright. A couple of the reviews on BRS mention that it is a HQI bulb so HQI is the way to get.

Hey mate, yea they are still in the fixture but unfortunately been having problems with my tank so i currently simply run the 4 T5'due south over the tank. I recollect i underestimated how long a tank started with dry rock would accept to mature and after a nice offset corals take done really bad for the past month or 2.
I still like the Crystal bulb and will be keeping it for the foreseeable future.
Hopefully in the near future i can written report back with a better review :)

So afterward months I listened to your advice and got a couple of Crystal from BRS on Blackness friday sale and fired i up beside my radium running on M80 ballast. It took me a couple of days to get used to the color. I thought radium was white on M80 but the Geissemann blows everything out !!!! Its a tad yellow which I really dear equally it brings out purples and blues similar none else.

Am planning to run ane on M80 and one on 250 HQI mode on luxcore ballast and encounter the affect. Overall am very happy in the initial days.
